Location

The Parkland is located in the west-central region of the province of Manitoba, Canada, approximately 180 km (112 miles) north of the United States border. The region is bordered by provincial trunk highway (PTH) #77 to the north, Lakes Winnipegosis and Manitoba to the East, PTH #45 to the south, and the Saskatchewan border to the west.

Arriving by Automobile

Access to the Parkland Region is available from the TransCanada Highway #1 and the Yellowhead Highway #16 from the south, via PTH #10 from the north, and along Saskatchewan highways #3, #5, #8, #10, #57 and #49 in the west.

A number of highways provide direct access to the Parkland. The main north/south highways are PTH #10, which connects with the TransCanada Highway #1 to the south at Brandon, and exits the Parkland approximately 390 km north near Mafeking (an approx. 5 hour drive); and PTH #83, which extends north from the US border, entering the Parkland region near Russell, then straddling the Saskatchewan border as it winds its way north through Duck Mountain Provincial Park to Swan River in the north. PTH #5 bisects the region, extending from Roblin in the west, to Ste. Rose du Lac in the east, then south where it joins with the TransCanada Highway #1 at Carberry. PTH #20 provides access to eastern regions, extending north from Dauphin to Winnipegosis and then along the western shore of Lake Winnipegosis and west to Cowan where it joins with PTH#10.
